About

What does Keldara mean anyway?

Eileen and Jeanne were so passionate about finding the perfect name for their salon and spa that they decide to create their own word to describe their sanctuary.

Well, not really, but sort of. Here’s the story.

Our Name

Many early churches were situated on oak groves because they were considered protective sanctuaries. Centuries ago, Saint Brigid founded her abbey in Kildare under the shade of an oak tree. Legend says that she loved and blessed the great oak and held it so sacred that no one dare harm a leaf on it. Kildare derives from “Cill-dara,” which means the Church of the Sacred Oak. And “Cill-dara” is where the word Keldara came from.

Because like St. Brigid, Eileen and Jeanne wished to create a sanctuary where their guests would feel protected and safe.

Over two decades ago…

Sisters Eileen Casey and Jeanne Gianino launched Keldara Salon and Spa with a mission to create a relaxing and inviting environment where their guests would truly feel welcome & pampered; a sanctuary for beauty and renewal.

Keldara offers a beautiful atmosphere with warm, soothing colors and a calming, comforting vibe.

The spa lounges are nestled in the spa and offer peace and quiet. Change into a robe and slippers, sip on a hot cup of tea and sit on the velvety, cozy couch. Inhale the subtle essential oil aromas and feel your stresses fade away.

The pedicure and manicure rooms are unique in that they're semiprivate with windows in between, should you decide to chat with your neighbor. Allow yourself to enjoy a leisurely and luxurious feeling pedicure or manicure. Retreat to a place of tranquility and feel as though it’s only you by letting yourself relax, close your eyes, and listen to the soothing spa sounds.

The salon is bright and spacious. We bring the spa ambiance into the salon with soft music and a semi-enclosed shampoo room. We a tranquil atmosphere so that you can enjoy a remarkable head massage that will make you feel like you are floating in the clouds)!

The boutique is ever changing with a variety of seasonal styles, plus some undeniable sweet treats! And "the porch" is a perfect place to sit and decompress while waiting for your experience to begin!

All the Best,

Jeanne and Eileen
